We are looking for dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as Associate Teacher. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the
growth and development of children while supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and care.
We would love to hear from someone who:
Has semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
Has 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
Has a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
HS/EHS/MSHS/State-Braided Associate Teachers must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or the California equivalent of a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit at time of hire (12 ECE semester units including core courses; and for EHS and infant/toddler classrooms must also have 6 infant/toddler semester units) OR
Be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years; OR
Have an associate or bachelor's degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
Has a valid CA driver’s License and reliable insured vehicle available for business use.
Can provide DMV print out and proof on auto insurance.
As an Associate Teacher you will:
Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation.
Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
Must submit proof of current vaccination status for measles, pertussis, and influenza (or a current, signed influenza declination form) in compliance with SB 792.
Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
Must complete a health screening physical completed within 30 days prior to employment and a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background requirements: criminal history check (Inclusive of DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse), acknowledgement of child abuse reporting responsibility, criminal record statement (Form LIC508), etc. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
Upon hire agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Program administrative staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
Must meet the Head Start Performance Standards and State requirements.
Employment in Head Start, Early Head Start and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Programs is contingent upon approval of the Policy Council.
